(should be pronounced Fuke-suh, but usually isn't...)
A fascination with the world around us, the way we see, and how we assign meaning to everything, led Barry Fuxa to a 1999 Bachelor of fine arts degree from Oklahoma State University. A fan of realism, minimalism, symbols, and the surreal, Fuxa has been heavily influenced by naturalist illustrations, scientific discoveries, the weirdness of Dali and the playfulness of Magritte. In traditional media, Fuxa prefers the deftness of a watercolor brush and precision of a pencil to the rawness of other mediums. He has also recently begun working digitally while simulating traditional techniques.
